What to Expect
Who will I be talking to?
Your counsellor will be a graduate counselling student completing advanced clinical training under the supervision of experienced clinical supervisors. Every counsellor receives ongoing supervision to support thoughtful, ethical, and compassionate care.
Is counselling confidential?
Yes. What you share with your counsellor is confidential, with some legal and ethical exceptions related to safety. Your counsellor will explain confidentiality, supervision, and any applicable recording practices before counselling begins, so you can ask questions and understand how your information is handled.
Pay-What-You-Can
Money shouldnβt decide weather you can talk to someone.
Third Space is a charity because we believe cost shouldnβt stop you from getting support.
Our counselling uses a flexible contribution model. When you sign up, youβll choose the amount that works for you, including $0.
There is no right amount to choose, and no explanation is required. Your contribution will not affect the quality of your counselling or who youβre matched with.
If youβre able to contribute, your payment helps Third Space continue making counselling accessible to young adults in our community. If your circumstances change, you can ask us to adjust your contribution at any time.
We believe everyone deserves access to mental health support. You choose a contribution that feels comfortable for you.
| LEVEL | SUGGESTED AMOUNT | WHAT IT MEANS |
|---|---|---|
| Supported | $0 / session | I can't comfortably contribute right now. |
| Accessible | $10 / session | I can contribute a little toward each session. |
| Sustaining | $25 / session | I can contribute more toward the cost of my counselling. |
| Pay It Forward | $50 / session | I'm able to help keep counselling accessible for others. |
| Other | You choose | Another amount works better for me. |
There's no judgment attached to what you choose. If your financial circumstances change while you're receiving counselling, talk to our team.
How It Works
- You choose your contribution level, with no financial documentation needed.
- Your selected amount stays the same for the length of your counselling, unless you ask to change it.
- Payment is handled through Jane, our scheduling and payment platform.
- A cancellation / no-show fee is separate from your contribution amount.
